What is artificial intelligence? Which applications?

Institut Français de Finlande
Yrjönkatu 36
17.00 - 18.00

What is AI? Which are its applications? Are we all concerned by AI? If so, how? The Institut Français de Finlande organizes a event about artificial intelligence. The event is run by scientist Ammar Mian and artist Gregoire Rousseau, who will help us answering to those basic, yet fundamental questions related to our use and understanding of artificial intelligence (AI). A short, generic definition of AI will be followed by an interactive quiz on AI applications, including machine translation. After the conference, the participants will be invited to go deeper into AI by attending the conference on language learning at the Goethe Institut at 18.30. Read more about the AI and language learning from Goethe Institut web site.

Ammar Mian is a postdoctoral researcher at Aalto University in the Department of Signal Processing and Acoustics, and Gregoire Rousseau is a Helsinki-based artist, educator and expert in technology.
